The LIFE MySOIL project has been widely present at the 9th European Bioremediation Conference (EBC-IX), which took place in Chania (Greece) from June 15-19, 2025.
On June 16, Fiora Bagnato, partner from Eni Rewind, presented the initiative and its main results in her talk entitled “LIFE MySoil: a full-scale assessment of mycoremediation of a hydrocarbon-contaminated soil”

On the other hand, on June 18, Jofre Herrero, project coordinator from Eurecat, introduced one of the more important LIFE MySOIL outputs: a set of guidelines for the implementation of mycoremediation. These guidelines aim to provide a practical and evidence-based framework for the operation of this technology, with a particular emphasis on the treatment of soils contaminated by organic pollutants.
Moreover, on June 19, Jofre Herrero delivered a LIFE MySOIL flash presentation within the ALL4BIOREM cluster session “The contribution of environmental bioremediation to the Clean Industrial Deal in Europe”.
ALL4BIOREM is an alliance aimed at advancing bioremediation technologies and promoting sustainable soil restoration practices. Apart from MySOIL, the initiatives making up the ALL4BIOREM cluster are MIBIREM, SYMBIOREM, BIOSYSMO, Nymphe, EDAPHOS, ISLANDR, pHYBi, IASIS and BioRem.

The EBC-IX, co-organised by the Technical University of Crete and the University of Bologna, included topics such as new challenges, future trends, directions and the most recent technological innovations for the management and restoration of a wide range of contaminated sites and marine environments as well as on resource preservation through recycling and bio-based reclamation, towards to a circular economy.
