[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=““]The LIFE MySOIL project<\/a> organised a session focused on mycoremediation<\/a><\/strong> within the framework of the International Conference and Exhibition on Land and Water Remediation Markets and Technologies (RemTech Europe)<\/a><\/strong>, held in Ferrara (Italy) from September 16th<\/sup>-20th<\/sup>, 2024.<\/p>\n

The event, which took place on September 19th<\/sup>, brought together researchers, practitioners and policymakers to discuss the latest advances in mycoremediation<\/strong>. It was structured in two blocks: the first included talks on mycoremediation from experts from the field and the second dug into the LIFE MySOIL project.<\/p>\n

The initial presentation was held by Tatiana Stella<\/strong>, CEO of\u00a0M3R-Monitoring and Management of Microbial Resources<\/a>, who delved into the mycoremediation concept with her talk \u201cA 15-year long story of recalcitrant pollutants treatment by fungi<\/em>\u201d<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7557″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=““]Salom\u00e9 Bertone<\/strong>, PhD student from the University of Technology of Compi\u00e8gne<\/a>, followed by delivering the presentation \u201cMicrobial interactions involved in bioremediation of benzo(a)pyrene by the fungus Talaromyces helicus in soil<\/em>\u201d.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7562″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=““]The first block was closed by Caroline Zaoui<\/strong>, CTO & Co-founder of Novobiom<\/a>, with the presentation \u201cAiming at precision bioremediation<\/em>\u201d.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7568″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=““]After the break, the second block started with an introduction to the LIFE MySOIL project by Jofre Herrero<\/strong>, Advanced Researcher and project coordinator from Eurecat<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7573″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=““]The three\u00a0demonstration sites<\/a>\u00a0of the project were then presented. The\u00a0French site<\/a>\u00a0was introduced by\u00a0Ilaria Chicca<\/strong>, Mycologist from\u00a0Novobiom<\/a>, and by\u00a0Laurent Thannberger<\/strong>, Scientific Director from\u00a0VALGO<\/a>; the\u00a0Italian site<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Alessandro D\u2019Annibale<\/strong>, Senior Researcher from the\u00a0University of Tuscia<\/a> and Fiora Bagnato<\/strong>, Senior R&D Specialist from Eni Rewind<\/a>; and the\u00a0Spanish site<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Rafael Ant\u00f3n<\/strong>, Researcher from the\u00a0Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid<\/a>, and by\u00a0Jorge Diamantino<\/strong>, Consultant from\u00a0KEPLER, Ingenier\u00eda y Ecogesti\u00f3n<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7578″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7583″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7588″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=““]To wrap up the presentations, Anko Fischer<\/strong>, Head of Office in Leipzig from\u00a0Isodetect<\/a>, stepped in to introduce the MYCOTRAP<\/a>, \u00a0a novel approach used in LIFE MySOIL to assess soil mycoremediation.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“7593″ img_size=“large“ alignment=“center“ css=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=““]The special session was not the only dissemination activity of LIFE MySOIL during RemTech.
